What Is the 250 Years of American Music Assembly?
Bring American history to life through the power of music! 250 Years of American Music is an engaging, interactive school assembly that takes TK–6 students on an unforgettable musical journey through America’s rich cultural heritage.
Created and performed by acclaimed Razzle Bam Boom duo, this high-energy assembly combines live music, storytelling, authentic instruments, comedy, audience participation, and fascinating historical facts to show students how music has helped shape the American experience.
Through live performances, storytelling, humor, authentic musical instruments, and audience participation, Mark Beckwith and Obediah Thomas help students experience the sounds and stories behind many of America’s most influential musical traditions. Along the way, they’ll discover how African American, Mexican American, Hawaiian, Folk, Blues, Jazz, Country, Zydeco, and Rock ‘n’ Roll music have helped shape America’s rich musical heritage and continue to influence the music we hear today.
